Defensa del exdirector de la PDI dijo que «reconoció todos los contactos»

Sergio Muñoz llegóa eso de las 8:40 al Centro de Justicia, donde será formalizado por violación de secreto. Ayer, declaró por cuatro horas.
En el comienzo de lo que será una agitada jornada para el exdirector de la Policía de Investigaciones de Chile (PDI), Sergio Muñoz, quien será formalizado por violación de secreto en el marco del denominado Caso Audios, su abogado, Juan Carlos Manríquez, declaró que la exautoridad «reconoció todos y cada uno de los contactos, sin escamotear ni escabullir ninguno».
Fue justamente ayer cuando el exjefe de la policía civil prestó declaración ante la Fiscalía durante cuatro horas, ad portas de lo que será su formalización el día de hoy.
En ese sentido, el abogado defensor (quien también tiene como clientes a Karina Oliva y es querellante en el homicidio del exmilitar venezolano Ronald Ojeda), dijo en conversación con radio ADN que fueron «ratificando aquellos contactos que señala la prensa» y que se indagaron «un número cercano a 10».
A renglón seguido, Manríquez sostuvo que Muñoz «reconoce que se equivocó rotundamente, que no lo volvería a hacer jamás, que esa constituya una conducta impropia e indebida y así lo asume». «Actuó no respondiendo a ningún encargo, ni a un compromiso, ni a un pago, ni a una prebenda, ni a un acuerdo ilegal», complementó el abogado.
Por otro lado, sobre el contacto con Luis Hermosilla, de quien es cliente, la defensa de Muñoz se centró en que «actuó en la convicción de que lo que esperaba era menos daño para la institución (se desarrolla otra investigación contra su antecesor Héctor Espinosa) y, en segundo lugar, tratar de que en ese caso la institución presidencial, que aparecía envuelta en algún asunto de interés policial y criminalístico de quien decía lo representaba, pudiera tomar las medidas que estimara pertinente».
