«Con la fuerza, convicción y compromiso»: mundo político reaccionó a la elección de Karol Cariola como presidenta de la Cámara de Diputados

La diputada del Partido Comunista y recién nombrada presidenta de la Cámara de Diputadas y Diputados afirmó que su principal dedicación está en mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas y lograr acuerdos que redunden en beneficios para todos por igual.
En una sesión marcada por la tensión y decidida por un solo voto de diferencia, la tarde de este lunes la diputada Karol Cariola del Partido Comunista fue elegida como la nueva presidenta de la Cámara de Diputados. Con 76 votos a favor, Cariola superó a la carta de la oposición, la diputada Joanna Pérez del partido Demócratas, quien obtuvo 75 votos.
Este histórico resultado convierte a Cariola en la primera militante comunista en presidir la Cámara de Diputados de Chile. En su primer discurso como presidenta, Cariola agradeció el apoyo de sus colegas y destacó la importancia de honrar la palabra empeñada.
“Quiero reafirmar nuestra compromiso con las instituciones y nuestro respeto y defensa irrestricta con la democracia. Soy militante de un partido que ha dado prueba de ello. Sus militantes, nuestros compañeros y compañeras han dado la vida por ello (la democracia)”, comentó. Asimismo, resaltó que “hoy ha caído un veto anticomunista y antidemocrático“.
En esta línea, las reacciones del mundo político no tardaron en hacerse notar, las felicitaciones por parte de figuras del oficialismo se tomaron las redes sociales de X (ex twitter), desde la ministra Camila Vallejo, el alcalde de Recoleta Daniel Jadue hasta la diputada comunista Carmen Hertz, entre otros.
