Frente Amplio respalda al gobernador de Valparaíso tras rechazo del PS regional a darle apoyo para reelección

El presidente provisorio del partido dijo que Rodrigo Mundaca, cuestionado por su “falta de oficialismo” por el socialismo, “ha sido leal a nuestra causa”.
Revuelo han causado las palabras vertidas por el diputado y presidente regional del Partido Socialista (PS), Nelson Venegas, quien manifestó que desde su tienda no apoyarán la reelección del actual gobernador regional de Valparaíso, Rodrigo Mundaca, debido a sus dichos en contra del partido que lidera.
Sin embargo, desde el Frente Amplio no están totalmente de acuerdo y buscan que Mundaca sea el abanderado oficial. Así se desprende de las declaraciones del presidente provisorio de la colectividad, Diego Ibáñez, quien sostuvo que “ser oficialista significa defender las causas justas, la causa del agua, de la vivienda, medio ambiente, las causas del programa del Presidente Boric y en eso el gobernador Mundaca ha sido leal a nuestra causa, por lo que llamaría a la unidad en la diversidad”.
Asimismo, declaró: “Les hago un llamado a la calma, nuestra región es diversa y necesita la unidad del progresismo para hacer avanzar los cambios”. Palabras a las que se adhirieron otros personeros de la colectividad como el senador y expresidente de Revolución Demócratas, Juan Ignacio Latorre, quién apeló a dejar los conflictos que “no le interesan a la ciudadanía” y que son “las típicas peleas de ‘los políticos’”.
