Asesora de diputada Pérez revela detalles sobre chats borrados por exseremi de Vivienda en Antofagasta: “Estaba desconfiando mucho”

Uno de los antecedentes que ha marcado la investigación del Caso Convenios fue la detección de mensajes borrados por parte del exseremi de Vivienda de Antofagasta, Carlos Contreras, los cuales podrían haber contenido información crucial para el desarrollo de la indagación.
En este contexto, Paloma Larraín, asesora de la diputada Catalina Pérez, dio sus declaraciones al respecto ante el Ministerio Público el pasado 11 de enero.
Larraín, quien fue una de los chats eliminados por Contreras, detalló ante los fiscales cómo interpretó la acción del exfuncionario y las posibles razones detrás de la misma. Según un informe de la Policía de Investigaciones (PDI), los mensajes borrados podrían haber contenido información relevante para la investigación, además de involucrar a personas con roles importantes tanto en la Seremi como en la fundación Democracia Viva.
En sus declaraciones, Larraín explicó que en aquel entonces, a fines de mayo o principios de junio había mucha incertidumbre en el partido, lo que pudo haber llevado a Contreras a desconfiar y tomar la decisión de borrar los mensajes.
Según recoge El Mercurio, Larraín afirmó: «Interpreté su acción como normal porque esto ocurrió a fines de mayo o principios de junio y en ese entonces había muchas dudas instauradas a nivel partidario y quizás él no confiaba tanto en mí y podría pensar que se filtraría la información, no lo sé; por lo tanto, no lo cuestioné y él los borró».
La asesora de Pérez también reveló sus impresiones sobre el estado emocional de Contreras en aquel momento, sugiriendo que este se encontraba en un estado de paranoia y desconfianza hacia su entorno. En sus propias palabras: «Yo percibí que él estaba paranoico y que estaba desconfiando mucho de la gente a su alrededor, pensé que él podía creer que yo podía ir a la prensa».
