Chile protesta ante el Congreso de EE.UU. por senador que planteó vínculos con Hezbolá
«Es un insulto a los chilenos y de una falta de respeto de una democracia a otra que tienen una historia de trabajo conjunto muy desarrollada”, dijo el embajador chileno en EE.UU., Juan Gabriel Valdés.
Chile envió una carta de protesta al Congreso de Estados Unidos en respuesta a una reciente declaración del senador republicano Marco Rubio, quien la semana pasada sugirió que existe presencia y vínculos en Chile del grupo chiíta libanés Hezbolá, uno de los principales aliados de Irán.
Así lo reveló este miércoles el embajador de Chile en Estados Unidos, Juan Gabriel Valdés, en declaraciones a una conocida emisora de radio chilena.
«Es un insulto a los chilenos y de una falta de respeto de una democracia a otra que tienen una historia de trabajo conjunto muy desarrollada”, afirmó.
“El senador Rubio dijo que Chile había recibido castigos de Estados Unidos por tener empresas que eran dirigidas por Hezbolá. Eso es una situación que no se ha dado nunca en nuestra historia. Por lo tanto, no tiene ninguna base real (…) no existe ninguna empresa que maneje Hezbolá en Chile», indicó el diplomático.
Valdés fue enfático al señalar que las palabras de Rubio «carecen de valor, de cualquier base de hecho y son seriamente engañosas».
Una semana después de las declaraciones del senador estadounidense, acusaciones similares fueron emitidas por la ministra de Seguridad del gobierno de Javier Milei, Patricia Bullrich, que fueron rápidamente desmentidas por el propio jefe de Estado chileno, Gabriel Boric, que anunció el envío de una carta de protesta a Argentina.
“La ministra de Seguridad del Gobierno de Argentina, Patricia Bullrich, afirmó que un grupo terrorista llamado Hezbolá estaría con presencia en el norte de Chile y otros países de la región. Yo le exijo a la ministra de Seguridad de Argentina que si tiene antecedentes que los entregue y que colabore, pero que no haga antecedentes así a la rápida sin probar absolutamente nada”, afirmó ayer el mandatario chileno en entrevista con una radio local.
Boric reiteró que Bullrich debe entregar las pruebas a «las instancias que corresponden en la justicia y que se comunique a través de Cancillería».
«Exijo respeto con nuestro país (…) Chile no ampara ningún grupo terrorista, ni en su territorio ni fuera de él”, agregó el presidente chileno.
